Sold Horses

Here is a partial list of horses we have sold. We had the pleasure training, showing, and owning these wonderful horses and think about them all and how they are doing. If you bought any horse from us, please shoot us an email letting us know how they and you are doing!

Blaze- 2004 QH Gelding

John bought Blaze as a yearling, he started & trained him for a variety of disciplines. This gelding excelled for lessons, ranch work, trail riding, working cattle, & in fun shows. This gelding is a great riding horse, standing 15.3 hands & weighing 1300 lbs he is suitable for just about any kind of rider.

Blaze is now by Winterset, IA being used to ride fences, check cattle, and teach all level of people how to ride.

Buster-1999 QH Gelding

John bought Buster as a unbroke 4 year old.  He started buster under saddle and has used him for everything from trails, to cattle, rodeos, parades, and fun shows.  Not for beginners but a gentle riding boy.  Stands 15.3 hands and 1300 lbs.

John gave Buster to Ellsworth College to use in their lesson program.  Eventually Ellsworth sold him and we are not sure where he is at now.

Glory-2000 QH jenny Mule

Jo bred for "Glory", she is out of her mare Silkys Wonder.  This mule has been for trail riding, lessons, and at fun shows.  Was used fora summer at a camp for kids and did awesome for them. 

Glory was sold in 2005 to a couple out west to use as a pack mule

Levi-2001 QH Gelding

Jo bought Levi as a yearling from the Stuart Sale Barn in Stuart, IA.  After she started him under saddle, she used Levi in shows, fairs, rodeos, out on the trails, lessons, and to work cattle when needed.  Levi was a great horse that anyone could get on and ride.

Levi went to live as a trail horse in southern Iowa, as of last year the lady still had him and rode him weekly.

Sonnys Cool Beau-2003 AQHA Gelding

"Junior" Jo bought as a weanling and was initially going to be her show stallion.  Jo started and trained Junior for western and english pleasure. Jo gelded him as a 4 year old when she turned her focus on speed and cow events. Junior was a horse anybody could get on and ride. Junior stands 16 hands and is 1350 lbs.

Junior was sold to a great friend in Nebraska who still owns him, using him for Elk hunting and trail riding in the mountains of Wyoming.

Savannah-2006 Warmblood mare

Savannah is out of Jos Belgian mare by Sonnys Cool Beau, a gelding that Jo raised. Savannah is the kind of horses that anyone could get on and ride.  She took very good care of her rider no matter how litle they knew about horses & riding.

Savannah is owned by a young girl of central Oklahoma.  She is being used for trails, pony club, and playdays.

Ashley-1999 QH/Mustang mare

Ashley didn't get much riding until she was about 8, then John put 60 days on her.  This mare always gave her all and wanted to work.  Used her on trails mainly but also for fun shows.

Ashley in now owned by a little girl in Missouri, she is learning how to ride and doing well.

HKS Masters Jim-1996 AQHA stallion

Big Daddy, as he was known to many, came to us from a good friend in Iowa.  Daddy had a lot of ground issues and had never been started under saddle.  Daddy was Johns project, he started working him on the ground to improved his ground manners.  At 14 year old, John started Daddy under saddle and put 60 days on him.  He was used to ride trails and work cattle with us.

We sold Daddy spring on 2010 to a gentleman in central Oklahoma. He was going to use him to raise a few foals and check his cattle.  Last we heard, he was doing great!

Duthcess-2000 Arabian/Mustang mare

Dutchess we got in trade for training.  She was untouched but a very willing mare. After 30 days of ground training she was ready to be ridden.  At that time we were in the process of moving so we were not able to start her.

We sold her to a friend who got her going and into a good home.

Red Hot Elegance-AQHA/Impulse On A Red Hot-APHA mare

Red Hot Elegance(AQHA)/Impulse On A Red Hot(APHA). Ele is very laid back and easy going, has great movement.  Perfect conformation to get the job done, slow legged and just the right amount of action to go far. Great disposition, handles great in hand. Stands for clipping, baths, farrier, saddling, mounting, banding her mane, and has some showmanship training.  Ele has about 120 days of training on her and is started on the barrels/poles. She has been hauled and exposed.

We sold Ele to a family in Texas, she will be used as a rodeo and trail horse.

Mac-2004 AQHA gelding

Mac is 15  hands, 1100 lbs; sire is a proven team roping horse and sire.  He is built like the old style quarter horses; short, stocky, great bone, joints, and hooves, great disposition, and he has a bonus: being a beautiful palomino! Mac was started as a 3 year old but he hasn't been rode for the last few years. He is very giving, quiet, respectful & a quick learner.  We have put 45 days on make for a tune up and he is ready to work the ranch, hit the trails, go down the road, or go into roping training. 

We sold Mac to a friend in Iowa who is continuing his training.

Brownie-2006 QH gelding

Brownie was started and ridden on trails & around cattle as a 3 year old. We got on him after having almost a year off and rode off with no issues! Not buck, rear, taking off, just a great disposition on this gelding. Has a 30 day tune up.

Brownie went to Texas to be used on the ranch/trails.

Gordos A Rebel-1996 AQHA gelding

Rebel is a great trail, road, and ranch gelding, double bred Go Man Go. Used as a ranch gelding for 10 years, he will walk all day if you want or lope all day. If you want to go for a nice trail ride, sit back and relax. Rebel will go through and over anything, even swim if you want.

Rebel was sold to a gentleman in Iowa.

Red-2007 APHA gelding

Good on trails or in the arena, he needs some work under saddle still but nothing major.   He would make a good pasture buddy for something. We have limited time for training our own horses and would like to see him go to someone who will use and appreciate him.


Red was sold to a gentleman in Texas and is used for his grandkids.

Caliber-2006 Paint gelding

Caliber  is a very good looking boy, great conformation -very straight, with good bone, joints, and hooves.  Caliber is started under saddle and is coming along great in his basic training. He is very cowy and will make a great ranch and/or trail horse. Loving disposition, really enjoys being handled and attention.

Caliber is going to a young teen girl in Texas to eventually be used as her rodeo horse.  For now just a trail and ranch gelding.

Princess-2004 Arabian/Mustang mare
